Biography

Bonnie J. Flessen is the author of Frontier Man (Wipf & Stock, Resource, 2025) and An Exemplary Man: Cornelius and Characterization in Acts 10 (Wipf & Stock, Pickwick, 2010) . 

She has a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies (New Testament) from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. She taught as an adjunct instructor at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago.

Her research explores the intersection of masculinity and empire in the first century CE. Her debut novel Frontier Man incorporates ecological and prophetic dimensions into this framework and invites readers to use exegetical tools to interpret fiction.
